Your role as a referrer

You can refer to us if you are an aid worker, counsellor or professional of someone who was involved in:

Contact helps with moving on

Our guiding principle is that victims and offenders can benefit from contact with each other. It can help with emotional processing for victims, and guilt processing for offenders and causers of traffic accidents. We help by organizing, facilitating, preparing and guiding this contact. We call this restorative mediation.

Referrals: yes please!

As a professional, you are important to us: most people end up applying for restorative mediation because they talked about it with professionals. Through the information you give them about restorative mediation, they can make an informed choice for themselves.

Application

You can apply for your client through this form, even if they are not sure yet whether they actually want to get in contact with the other person. They only need to make a decision on that after talking with one of our mediators.

Important

  • Restorative mediation is always voluntary
  • All parties can start, pause, or stop the mediation at any time.
  • The mediator is impartial and considers the wants and needs of both parties.

Your role during the mediation

Naturally, you can also personally guide and help your client during the mediation, for example by being present during the meetings. Our mediator will contact you after you apply for your client to discuss your role and possibly make agreements about feedback.

You can read more about our working method on this page.

Aftercare

After the mediation, all referrers get feedback about whether a mediation between their client and the other person took place. Feedback about the content of the contact is also possible. This could be useful to look back on the mediation with your client.
