At Perspectief Herstelbemiddeling, the quality of our mediations is important to us. We continuously take efforts to ensure that our work is done in the best way possible, and that our clients receive the best service possible. We do this in several ways.
Quality assurance of mediations
Work descriptions
We work with a tried and tested, documented method. The mediation process is described step by step, and guidelines, codes of conduct and protocols are available. All documents are updated regularly. This way, we offer a uniform and predictable service, based on our most recently required insights.
Mediator training
The selection and hiring procedure for mediators has high requirements. After being hired, all mediators also have to follow the mandatory basic training for restorative mediation. This training focuses on obtaining the right knowledge and mediation skills. After successfully completing this basic training, the mediator will receive their license. This license is extended yearly if the mediator meets the requirements (sufficient amount of mediations, mandatory training, intervision).
Quality assurance
In our daily practice our work supervisors monitor the work of the mediators. With the help of a set meeting cycle we ensure that we can keep insight into how all our individual staff are doing.
We monitor our client and referrer satisfaction by frequently asking them about their experience with us. Our easily accessible complaints procedure also contributes to good monitoring of quality.
Research partners
We regularly have (scientific) research carried out or participate in researches that were initiated by our network partners. Among others, we’ve been closely collaborating with the Psychology of Conflict, Risk and Safety department at the University of Twente for years. We facilitate researchers by offering them data from our work experience, which they convert into new knowledge and insights with the use of scientific methods.
