Sandra: “I don’t want to limit myself, I want to live.”
Sandra is the victim of sexual violence and wants to ask questions to the perpetrator. During the mediation she first chose an exchange of letters. After that, a meeting took place under the guidance of a mediator.
“I got to talk first and I told him how I had experienced everything, and how humiliating the rape was to me. I couldn’t look him in the eyes as I told my story, but I could see that my words touched him. I was afraid that he might come looking for me, so I wanted to know when he would get out of prison. We agreed that he would let me know when he went on parole, and that he would stay away from me. I’m doing well now. I am happy that I didn’t stay in my corner and that I took this step. I don’t want to limit myself, I want to live.”
